An introduction to 48th Scale...

For many years, as with 24th scale, 48th scale was more popular in the United States of America where it was also known as quarter scale.

The scale itself is based on a quarter of an inch being equal to one foot. However, many miniaturists switch to metric measurements in 24th and 48th scales to give greater accuracy. There are 6.35mm to each foot but this is often rounded down to 6mm to the foot, making 1mm equal to 2 inches in real terms.

The increasing popularity for the scale has encouraged us to create a range of 48th scale miniatures that collectors can display in their choice of model. Our range of bespoke furniture is individually hand made by ourselves to a high standard.
